Tons of tutorials..and my brushes

Wed Jan 7, 2009, 12:27 AM
A lot of people ask me for tutorials, help, tips..etc. Unfortunately I don't have much time to do the tutorials I'd want to do right now. :(

For now, what I can do..is lead you in the right direction. ¢mindfuckx put up a great article in the DA News today about a cache of brushes, textures, tutorials, shortcuts and what not..

[link]

Check it out, because even I went crazy downloading stuff. Hopefully this helps for now.

And also..here is a link to my brushes that I use. Figuring out HOW I use them, is for those willing to learn ;)

Keep drawing guys :]

Start of a new year

Sun Jan 4, 2009, 2:25 AM
Out with the old, in with the new...my parents used to tell me back when I was a little girl. huh.

So, I'm excited for this new year...Bush is GONE. Hopefully we can regain some dignity back (no need for political debate here) and get this place back rolling again.

But besides all of that, it is another year for me and every other artist out there. Which means, another year of hustling, learning and absorbing. Yes, I leave the best for last. Lately I've been doing a lot of research and development on many different artist, aka I'm blog-stalking. Saving a bunch of reference, inspiring art and so forth to try and build that visual library I got in my head. As one of my idols John Lasseter would say "Research is everything."

And it is. I'm taking in little bits here and there on what to do next, how to step it up each time and how to make sure I can always try to be fresh and unique. As everyone should because every day I am shocked by the amount of gorgeous art there is out there that is hidden all over the world inside blogs, portfolio sites and more.

But this is a new year, hopefully I can nab myself a few films (World War Z, Captain America and another..I'm aiming for), get on a few comics (hint hint Marvel/DC?), release Last Man Standing as my first book and hopefully have a gallery down in Hollywood or LA by years end.

We'll see, it'll be tough..it'll be stressful, it'll be nights of canned food..but this is the life I chose. Hell it beats working at a dead end job for the rest of my life. Been there and done with it.

So as the new year starts, I wish all of you a year filled of success and fun times..

Let's continue to kick ass in the art field

MARVEL OR DC!!! Pro-artist read too please

Sat Jan 3, 2009, 12:03 AM
I've been wanting to work for these two studios for like two years now, yet every time I make it down to Comic Con I get pulled in 50 different directions and can never make it to them. Next Comic Con isn't till July, anyone have any ideas how to get my work in front of them for now? I've already taken a meeting with Marvel's film side, so that doesn't help...worked with DC too, but wasn't the most fun book..would love to do something epic.

I really want to do covers :/ Even colors if it's a cool artist..

Let me know, anyone..any help would be fantastic! Thanks :)
